朱莉娅是一名职业女性，工作起来什么事儿都抛到脑后，包括她家中的一儿一女。有一天，她照常送孩子们去上学，却发现自己忘记了学校在放假，向老妈求助遭拒后，朱莉娅只能硬着头皮请假，自己带孩子。在咖啡馆里，她遇到了住在附近的一群妈妈。本想着加入她们的圈子，以后可以多几个人帮自己看孩子，却未料到这些妈妈们都是“来者不善”，尤其是“领头”的阿曼达。见识了各种奇葩的老妈，朱莉娅发现自己跟她们完全不属于一个世界，幸好她还认识了丽兹和凯文这两个被“嫌弃”的人，三个人凑成了一个小圈子。不管怎样，以后至少多了两个人可以帮她照看孩子。
