　　尤哈（萨卡里·库斯曼嫩 Sakari Kuosmanen 饰）和玛利亚（卡蒂·奥廷宁 Kati Outinen 饰）是一对生活在幸福和平淡之中的老夫少妻，两人住在他们经营的农场里，离群索居不问世事。一天，一个名叫辛麦卡（安德烈·维尔姆斯 André Wilms 饰）的男人来到了农场，他的车抛锚了。善良的尤哈邀请辛麦卡在农场过夜，哪知道就此为自己找了个麻烦。
　　
　　原来，辛麦卡是一个油嘴滑舌的花花公子，他花言巧语诱惑和哄骗了玛利亚，最终，玛利亚决定和辛麦卡私奔。然而，来到了大城市后，辛麦卡才露出了自己的真面目，他将玛利亚卖到了一家妓院里替自己工作。当尤哈得知了玛利亚的近况后，他决定向辛麦卡寻仇。
