　　在人类社会渐次向高端文明演化的进程中，我们人类的自身总是存在着诸多的危险变数……21世纪末，部分人类因受到辐射感染而致基因突变，变种成为了超速度高耐力的强悍辐射人，随着感染突变人群的增加，引起政府极度恐慌，担心突变人聚众组成反政府势力，便武力采取隔离措施，在突变人身上实施非人道实验，进而实施剿灭政策，也因此产生了种族对立的冲突，反抗一触击发。
　　一名身手超凡的突变女战士维奥莉特(米拉·乔沃维奇 饰)挺身而出，以暴治暴，宛如一台迅猛的杀戮机器，旨在对抗政府要员达克西斯极力推行的剿灭政策。整宗剿灭政策的关键在于一枚政府设计的神秘定时炸弹，而找出并毁掉这枚定时炸弹也就成为了维奥莉特的核心使命，在变种人加斯的帮助下，维奥莉特惊讶地发现一个在实验室中长大的小男孩赛克斯(卡梅隆·布莱特 饰)就是这枚致命的定时炸弹，出于母性的本能，维奥莉特决定带着小男孩同路亡命求生……
