◎简　　介  

　　艾玛 · 班维尔是一位以为败诉者辩护而闻名的律师。某天她接手了一桩为入狱14年的男子辩护的案件。14年前，初为人父的凯文被指控谋杀了一名校园女孩，因为证据不利，且迫于受审的压力，内心脆弱的凯文认下罪名，锒铛入狱。如今凯文的儿子已经14岁，前妻不想让孩子生活在父亲是杀人犯的阴影之下，便找来艾玛为前夫伸冤。原本只是一件刑事案件，但在艾玛一路抽丝剥茧之下，却发现背后深藏着一个巨大的丑闻。那些幕布后的大人物用伪证、翻供，甚至是绑架的手段试图让她屈服，但艾玛并没有放弃自己 " 为无辜的弱者辩护 " 的信仰。
