　　约翰是一个事业逐渐走下坡的山路自行车选手，沮丧的他回到加州的故乡，没想到恶梦却就此展开！他成为连续谋杀案的嫌疑犯，因为小镇上出现可疑的滑行痕迹。事实上真正的凶手是一条超级巨蟒，它的鳞片比盔甲还坚硬，视力范围是一般蛇的9倍，最骇人的是有如无底洞的胃。这是由遗传学家鲁道夫博士研究出的基因变种生物，目的是要破坏美国中部游击队的武器。而此计画后来却被CIA抢走而被迫终止，鲁道夫博士为了报复而将巨蟒放生到小镇上进行试验，然而巨蟒却立即变成连博士自己也无法控制的吃人魔。约翰为了洗刷冤屈必须与巨蟒对抗，他是否能成功击败这个恐怖的怪物，或是成为另一块俎上肉？
