　　杰克·瑞恩（欧文·威尔逊）是个居无定所、逃避法律的天才。他只身来到夏威夷，希望这里如画的风景能给自己带来一些好运。在充满热带风情的地方，杰克很快发现自己想要的是一段罗曼史。

　　房地产商雷·瑞奇（盖瑞·希尼斯）不顾当地居民的抗议强行建房。杰克在他那里找到份工作。但是，刚一开工，就跟工头哈里斯起了纠纷。瑞奇的左右手小鲍伯（查理斯·肖恩）警告杰克最好离开这个岛，但杰克对此置若罔闻。
