◎简　　介

　　玛莉亚（桃乐茜·麦圭尔饰）初抵美国驻罗马商力办事处接替安妮塔秘书（琼·彼得斯饰）的工作，并与名作家山德伟的秘书法兰西丝（玛吉·麦克纳马拉饰）同住。三位美国女郎均在罗马喷泉许愿，然而各有不同遭遇。安妮塔因寂寞返国，意籍同事乔治·欧终于表达爱意，却因违反上司规定而遭革职，于是家境陷入困苦不敢高攀；玛莉亚对迪诺公爵一见钟情并四处搜集他的嗜好，投其所好地引诱他，后感不安怅然离去；法兰西丝在山德身边做了15年的秘书，终于得到山德求婚，但当山德得知自己患了绝症又悔婚。法兰西丝劝山德治病并帮两位好友撮合好事，最终三人终于在许愿池前如愿以偿。
